Lumberjacks’ Lodge Jätkänkämppä and smoke sauna

Jätkänkämppä is a genuine 1950´s lumberjacks´lodge and it is like a voice from the past telling you about the logging culture of days gone by. It is a chance to watch the staggering feats of timberjacks, to reminisce to the sound of an accordion, to enjoy traditional Finnish fare and to wash away the dust of the day in the biggest smoke sauna of the world. Log house rich in athmosphere by a lake, alongside the Rauhalahti Spa Hotel (600 metres from the hotel), c. 5 km from the centre of Kuopio. Fully licensed meals and activities (max 150 persons), conference facilities for 80 (standard audiovisual equipment). A sizzling smoke sauna for up to 70 persons. Transport by lake steamer to order in summer.

The Jätkänkämppä Lumberjack Lodge provides a memorable venue for conferences, family functions, Christmas parties, weddings and corporate entertainment. Jätkänkämppä has its own menus for evening meals that also feature traditional provincial specialities. Entertainment options that can be booked for a function include an accordionist, a lumberjack show and various
playful games. Jätkänkämppä and smoke sauna can rserved for private use but it is open for individual visits on Tuesdays throughout the year and in summertime also on Thursdays.
